Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today (including home visits for those who are housebound) phone us on 0161 928 5522, Monday to Friday, when we are open. This is our preferred contact method for urgent questions. It's helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment in the next 5 working days (subject to availability)

  • Use our appointment request form, which will direct you to our online service Patient Triage where you can make a request from 8am. This is subject to availability. To ensure we respond in a timely manner, we need to ensure we are not overwhelmed at peak times, This will mean this service will sometimes be unavailable to request routine consultations; this is not a decision made lightly by the practice. This is our preferred contact method for routine questions.
  • Phone us before 10am on 0161 928 5522 Monday to Friday
  • Visit the surgery before and speak with a Receptionist before 9am, Monday to Friday

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:

  • face to face at the surgery
  • by phone (a clinician will determine whether a consult by this method is suitable)

To cancel your appointment:

You can check and cancel any appointment you have booked with us. You can do this 24 hours, 7 days a week by calling our usual telephone number 0161 928 5522 and listening out for the option to check and cancel appointments. This means you do not have to queue and wait to speak to one of our Receptionists and can call at any time that is convenient to you.

The local GP practices of Altrincham Healthcare Alliance Primary Care Network – Altrincham Medical Practice, Park Medical Practice, Shay Lane Medical Centre (Drs Cranston, Haslam and Connell), St Johns Medical Centre and West Timperley Medical Centre – are delivering increased numbers of evening and weekend appointments for the patients of all five practices.

From 1st October, double the number of pre-bookable, routine appointments will be available every weekday evening and at the weekend to support patient demand. Weekday evening and Saturday morning appointments for patients from all five practices will be held at St Johns Medical Centre in Altrincham’s Health and Wellbeing Centre as are Sunday morning phlebotomy clinics. Saturday afternoon appointments will be delivered from the other GP practices in rotation.

Appointments may also include services like cervical screening, childhood vaccination clinics and health checks. Patients will be able to see a GP, nurse or other health professionals from staff across our five GP practices. While this may mean patients see a different clinician than usual, each will have access to your health records and are committed to providing a patient-centred, quality service.
Patients are able to access appointments by contacting their own GP practice by phone or online or via reception.

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
  • If you need an interpreter.
  • If you have any other access or communication needs.

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible on 0161 928 5522.
