Moving to the new premises at Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre this autumn will provide the GP practices with almost 50 free onsite parking spaces for patients including disabled bays. This is more than treble the number we’re able to provide at our current practice locations: at St Johns more than 17,000 patients use the small space on St Johns Road and Barrington Medical Centre is limited to a few parking bays onsite for more than 7,000 patients.
The entrance to the new car park at the Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre is accessed via Greenwood Street and full details of the parking process will be communicated when we write again with a confirmed date for the move. It is worth highlighting that the modern, secure car park also features a lift to take patients and visitors directly to our new first floor practice reception area.
In addition to the free onsite parking at the new premises, we have also requested additional short-term parking spaces on Market Street to allow the simple drop-off/collection of prescriptions and patients: we are awaiting confirmation from the Council in response to this request.
Members of the St Johns Patient Participation Group have toured the premises and were impressed by the space and facilities. Barrington Medical Centre has also invited its PPG members to visit the new Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre.
We are excited about the move and will post updates on our websites and write again to patients closer to the moving date with further details.
