The Nursing Team

St Johns has a highly trained team of nurses with a varied and longstanding history of expertise. The team comprises of two Practice Nurses and a Health care Assistant; a brief explanation each role is provided below and you can meet the individual Nursing Team Staff here.

Practice Nurse

A practice nurse is a Registered General Nurse (RGN) who works in a General Practice setting, having obtained additional qualifications in order to run specific clinics such as Diabetes, Asthma, Heart Disease. Practice nurses carry out procedures such as immunisation, suture removal, ear irrigation** and advise on health promotion and disease prevention.

[**Please note cryotherapy & ear irrigation procedures are not routinely carried out at the practice, but may be done so under certain circumstances & should be discussed with your GP in the first instance.]
