Immunisations

Childhood Immunisation Clinics

Our practice nurses run the childhood immunisation clinics at the surgery, assisted by our health care assistant.  Notification of your child’s vaccinations are sent to you by Trafford’s Child Health Department, letting you know which vaccinations are due and the date and time of your appointment here at the surgery. If you think you may not have received notification at the appropriate stage, please contact the surgery and we will ensure an appointment is made available.

Please bring your ‘Red Book’ with you to your appointment so we can update your child’s record of immunisation.

Adult Immunisations

Most adults only need additional vaccinations for travel, and flu if they have a condition for which immunisation is recommended. However, people in certain occupations such as dentists or medical students may need vaccinations such as Hepatitis B. Booster vaccinations of Tetanus are provided if patients have not previously received 5 lifetime doses.

Travel

For further information on travel vaccinations, please view our travel section.

Flu

We carry out a comprehensive flu vaccination programme which now combines seasonal and swine flu vaccines. This service is available to patients aged 65 and over, and to patients with conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, stroke and kidney disease. We also offer vaccination to patients who are pregnant, and to those who have a chronic condition affecting their immune system.

If you think you are eligible for flu vaccination, please contact a member of the Reception Team.  Separate arrangements are made to vaccinate those patients who are completely housebound or live in a residential or nursing home.
