Patient Notice

When your GP refers you to a hospital clinic, the processing of the referral and the booking of the appointment is performed by a department called the Referral Booking and Management Service (RBMS).

The people in this service ensure that the correct information is passed on from your GP to the hospital service for them to arrange an appointment for you. As you will understand, this service handles relevant information about you and is subject to the strict rules applied by the NHS to protect your data.

This system has been running for a number of years and has been provided by an organisation called Pennine Care Foundation Trust.

We are informing you that as from 1st July 2015, the service has been  provided by an organisation called CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation ).

As the Data Controller for your confidential personal data we are responsible for the decision to share data with CSC when using RBMS.

We are assured by Trafford CCG that the contract for the provision of this service places detailed obligations on CSC to maintain the confidentiality and security of personal data and that CSC operate to the highest standards of data protection required by the NHS and the law.

The service will be run in exactly the same way as it has before with the same staff.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding this change then please speak to the practice manager.
